Sophia Girls’ College (Autonomous), Ajmer, is managed by the Mission Sisters of Ajmer, an Indian Sisterhood dedicated to the service of humanity through education. The college was founded in 1919 by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Fortunatus Caumont, the First Bishop of Ajmer, and his sister, Rev. Mother Matilda. Initially established as a small primary school to educate girls from conservative families, it gradually expanded to a high school and eventually achieved degree status in 1959. Today, Sophia Girls’ College is an autonomous institution with an ‘A+’ grade accreditation, offering courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, and several postgraduate programs.
With the motto “Seek Ye Wisdom,” the college focuses on empowering women through higher education. By providing numerous opportunities for personal and academic growth, Sophia Girls’ College helps students develop the skills they need to contribute positively to their communities and society.
