The WordPress Jinja Meetup Community is proud to announce that we will be organizing the first inaugural WordPress Campus Connect event series on the African continent. From 1st October 2025 to 10th February 2026, this four month-long celebration of WordPress learning and creativity will engage around 1,500 selected students (and a general population of over 30,000 students in total) across 12 campuses and schools across Jinja, Iganga and surrounding smaller towns in the greater Jinja and Busoga region, marking a historic milestone for WordPress education and adoption in the region.
Why Campus Connect?
For years, our WordPress Jinja community has worked hand-in-hand with students throughout Eastern Uganda through WordCamps, meetups, outreach programs, workshops, and training sessions. Students have always been at the heart of our mission, growing alongside developers, educators, and creatives.
WordPress Campus Connect Jinja is the next step — a dedicated platform where students can:
- Learn through talks, workshops, and hands-on training in WordPress, blogging, and digital creativity.
- Connect with developers, designers, and community leaders through mentorship and networking.
- Lead by starting WordPress student clubs and initiatives that will continue long after the event ends.
What to Expect
- Campus-based activations featuring engaging talks, practical workshops, and interactive sessions.
- Hands-on training in WordPress website design, blogging, and digital content creation.
- Mentorship opportunities with developers, educators, and community leaders.
- Follow-up outreach meetups to support the growth of student-led WordPress clubs and projects.
