This year’s Women’s Day will be memorable for the Dhaka WordPress community. We hosted the Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 event with all amazing women from various fields and celebrated empowerment. We talked, linseed, shared our thoughts, and finished the day with cute swags and an overview of how to join the most engaging WordPress community. If you want a quick recap of our event, start reading.
Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 Was LIT, Engaging And Empowering
Celebrating Women WordPress Day was a global phenomenon this year; 25+ communities celebrated it from all over the world. Each event was distinct and impactful in its own way. The same goes for our event in Dhaka, which took place on March 9, 2025. WordPress proposed and sponsored the Women’s Day event celebration. We were fortunate to receive such encouragement and empowerment; thank you, WordPress.
Here are the Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 highlights, from starting from scratch to planning an engaging event. Mumtahina Faguni, representing the Dhaka WordPress community, pitched Central for the beautiful event for Dhaka. It was widely accepted and appreciated by all. Thus, we had our own WordPress Women’s Day. It started out as a 1.5-hour event but quickly expanded into a 3+ hour engaging event.
For this event, thanks to the sponsors. A2 Hosting, Bluehost, WordPress.com and Woo were the global sponsors. WPDeveloper was the venue sponsor. Without these names, we can’t bring this event to life. Thank you.
We published an RSVP form to allow everyone to participate in the Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 event, which received a positive response. 31 people RSVPed, and 23 of them attended the event, with 4 males RSVPing unintentionally. Despite the common perception of our cultural norms and practices, the turnout was remarkable. What made it even more amazing was the diverse mix of attendees—students, entrepreneurs, homemakers, WordPress developers, designers, and more, all showcasing their enthusiasm and passion for the community.
Thanks to each of you for joining.
You made the event truly special and brightened the day for the organizers, who worked hard to provide something unique to the Dhaka WordPress community.
Here go the event day updates. The Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 kicked off with a packed house, inspiring eyes ready to learn and interact. We began the session by explaining to guests why this program is unique and how they were a part of a great activity. We attempted to provide an outline of how this incredible occasion is honored worldwide, and we are a part of it as well.
Then we began the introduction and ice-breaking session. Everyone pondered how they use their free time and engage in various forms of contributions in real life.
Our speaker, Afshana Diya, highlighted her WordPress journey, how she overcomes social obstacles, etc. She also provided advice on how to smartly brand yourself and achieve your goals. This inspirational lecture was beneficial to both industry veterans and newbies.
Our other speakers shared their incredible experiences, such as attending the first WordCamp, managing multiple tasks, and the value of family and community support. We must say that each speaker made an impression on attendees.
The motive of this program was not only to learn but also to feel empathetic and create a bond. There was an open floor talk on workplace discrimination and the vicious cycle of life: Job – Marriage – Baby. From a sociocultural standpoint, every girl is forced to confront this triangle and sacrifice her own ambitions and priorities. It was a wonderful moment when attendees shared their experiences and how they are dealing with breaking down the triangle.
All of the organizers share a love for the WordPress community, and they wanted to introduce it to everyone. So there was a small workshop with an introduction to help people understand why they contribute to WordPress and how life influences what amazing people do for this community. Some stories from popular contributors were shown on the screen to inspire attendees. Thanks to platforms like HeroPress, which allowed us to collect stories from their own narratives.
In the Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 event, we shared that there are several ways to get started, and contributions were explained and guided for a simple start. We briefed them about all the channels of the Make WordPress community and where they can be a part of it. Every attendee participated enthusiastically, and it was a truly moving experience to witness.
The program concluded with a networking session and a promise to hold more of these amazing programs, as well as an open invitation to the next meetup to be hosted by the new organizer. So, stay tuned; more chapters will follow.
In a nutshell, the Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 event was successful and well-received.

Backstory Recaps, Gratitudes & Thanks From Dhaka WordPress Community
Whether your event lasts an hour or several days, it cannot be organized without collaboration, execution of ideas, and bringing them to life. Each organizer responded to their assigned role competently. That is why we were able to pull off this program in such a short time. Thank you to @faguni22, @afshanadiya, @zebaafiashama, @karima20, @rahmantasnia, @Sabirah, @nowshin764, and Hoimonty.
One of the exciting firsts for us was creating the event website. It was a brand-new experience, and we put in our best efforts to make it a success. A special thanks to WordPress for the thoughtful gesture of providing us with access to the event website, making the process even more seamless.
As it is now Radamad time in Dhaka, it was challenging to fix the date and time and get enough attendees for this event. Again, thanks to the organizing team for putting in a full effort to promote Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025. Seeing the dedication and enthusiasm, similar event organizers from around the world sent their best wishes. Notable ones were from Sylhet WordPress Community, Nepal WordPress Community, Ajmer WordPress Community, and Kolkata WordPress Community. Here are some sneak peeks.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Pooja Derashri for introducing and inspiring us to organize this event from the Dhaka WordPress community. Also, thank you to KafleG for all of your guidance and support throughout this event. We want to see more amazing people like you in our community.
Cheers To More WordPress Women Meetups
We are fortunate to have a vibrant WordPress community in Dhaka, but the lack of female participation has always been a concern. Events like Dhaka Women WordPress Day 2025 aim to bridge this gap by inspiring more women to explore the WordPress ecosystem, find opportunities to get involved, and contribute to the community.
Encouraging more such meetups can only lead to positive change. As this year’s organizing team, we are more than ready to support and guide future hosts in organizing similar events. Hopefully, we’ll have more exciting news to share soon!
Until then, bye. Hopefully, reading about this event gave you a sense of goodness, enthusiasm, and empowerment. If you have attended the event or were following the event, don’t forget to share your thoughts and experiences in the comment section. Also, spread this wonderful news with your community and let’s grow together.
