WordPress YouthCamp 2024 is over: Sign up for our Web Design Competition!

We are excited to announce that WordPress YouthCamp 2024 has successfully concluded! Our event sold 123 tickets, and we had around 80 participants join us in-person for two days of the event, to learn WordPress. All our attendees left the event, having built their own fully-functional website, and went home with a lot of learnings and excitement.

Presenting: Press to Impress: The Official WordPress YouthCamp 2024 Web Design Competition Exclusively for Event Participants

If you did attend the event in person, you may have heard us announce our web design competition in the closing remarks! We are writing this post to make it official.

Folks who participated in the event got their own web server for you, and helped you create your own first website. You also learned about WordPress, and how to create a website using the platform. Now, it is time to put your newfound skills to use! Here’s your chance to sign up for “Press to Impress” – The Official WordPress YouthCamp 2024 web design competition. Available exclusively for attendees of YouthCamp 2024, here is a chance to create a WordPress website of your choice. You already have server space made available from the event, and a WordPress installation. You can create a new website, or use the test website we created for you. The site can be of anything that interests you. It can be a blog, an ecommerce store, a business website, anything. It also doesn’t need to be a real website, you can use an example scenario to create a website as well. Although, this might be a good idea to create your own website and practice the skills you learned at YouthCamp! Don’t forget that real exciting prizes are available for winners!

Competition Rules and Guidelines

  • The competition officially starts on May 6th, 2024 and will conclude on May 18th 2024.
  • Winners will be announced on the week of May 20th.
  • Participants who sign up for the competition will receive a form on May 13th, asking them to enter details of their website. All entries will be evaluated and prizes will be announced on the week of May 20th.
  • We will have independent jury members from the global WordPress Community going through these websites to select the winners.
  • Multiple prizes will be made available, so we strongly recommend that you participate, as there is a high chance of winning prizes!
  • Attendees of WordPress YouthCamp will have received a web server created for you. You can use that server space to create a new website or update the existing website you created at the event. (Note the space is temporary and will only be available until May 28th). Alternatively, you can use tools such as the free plan of WordPress.com (note: wordpress.com free has limitations, such as restricted use of plugins), or use a tool such as InstaWP to create your website.
  • Only one entry will be allowed per participant.
  • Only participants with a valid ticket for WordPress YouthCamp 2024 are allowed to participate in the event. While registering please use the same email ID you used to register for YouthCamp.
