Case study: a personal blog maintained by a blind content creator which can’t rely on a fully-functional multilingual suite as major plugins do not respond to accessibility needs completely.
Multilingual feature is in the phase 4 of Gutenberg development but
experiments start now! This speech will cover:
- get confident with template parts and patterns, let’s create our own
in desired languages. - let’s create templates for each content in each language.
- All done? If the blog is read-only it could be, but interactivity is
missing! - problems: 404 page, search results, archive pages have a common template. Here comes the AI and shortcodes to help!
- accessibility: is it possible to change the WordPress locale depending on the language? Basically there’s a trick for this too.
