The Uganda Ministry of ICT and National Guidance (MOICT & NG) is dedicated to fostering an ICT Innovation ecosystem in Uganda. Through the National ICT Initiatives Support Programme (NIISP), the National ICT Innovation Hub at Uganda Institute of ICT Nakawa was established. This hub serves as a catalyst for homegrown digital solutions and aims to catalyze entrepreneurship and digital employment across Uganda. In partnership with UICT, a Memorandum of Understanding ensures seamless and quality operations.

The Hub is located inside the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) Nakawa Campus and creates an environment for ICT innovators facing challenges with workspace, limited internet connectivity and searching for creative spaces that spur thinking. The Hub seeks to become the “Home of ICT Innovation” with the ability to house and support the local innovation ecosystem in Uganda, harnessing the true concept of Nationalism (home-grown potential).

Conducive Co-working spaces

The main shared services are access to working space, internet, hardware and a community of like-minded innovators. The hub also provides a space for motivation and exposure to possibilities that exist in various sectors based on technology – driven innovation.

Incubation Support Service

Innovators have access to a strong and experienced mentorship and expert network. The network helps them to validate their ideas, determine product market fit and access business support and advisory services.

Acceleration Support Service

The accelerator support service expedites the growth of established startups that have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with a working business model.
